Congratulations to Shifnal’s Xavier Clarke on being Warwickshire’s Complete Cricket player of the week for his performance against Walsall Cricket Club.
Xavier followed up last weekend’s performances by scoring 84* at a run a ball, as well as 3-53 from his 10 overs against Walsall in the Birmingham Premier Cricket League. Xavier’s contribution was vital in the first team recording back to back wins in the Birmingham League.
Following his performance on Saturday, Xavier then scored a blistering 67 off 39 balls against Ombersley CC in the Graham Williamson semi-final. His knock included five sixes and seven fours. Unfortunately Shifnal fell 35 runs short and were eliminated from the Graham Williamson.
Shifnal 1stXI won both games last weekend against Smethwick CC and Shrewsbury CC respectively where Xavier scored 91* and 38* which also included a five wicket haul against Shrewsbury.
Xavier has made a great start to the season and we hope his form continues into the rest of the season. Great work Xavier.
