A fabulous game with excellent bowling and fielding by Shifnal having lost the toss, restricting Wellington to 80 runs in their twenty overs. Pick of the bowlers was seamer Jack van Wyk with 4 wickets, 3 coming in his last 2 overs at the end to mop up the tail. Isaac Kendrick bagged a brace and Aaron Moore’s picked up a wicket in support. Jack Dirkin, Harry Parton, Luca Marshall and Dylan Wormestone all bowled economically.
Wellington bowled equally well but Jack Dirkin anchored the Shifnal innings with 33 not out and cameos from Suliaman Ahmed, Harry Parton and Jack van Wyk saw them home with 5 balls to spare.
Shifnal now play Little Stoke CC at Shifnal CC on Wednesday 14th July in the regional round.
