Shifnal Cricket Clubs away match on Saturday saw a record-breaking performance by Tom Gough, scoring 103 not out helping the Shifnal team reach 288 for 8, Tom then went on to take 5 wickets, helping Shifnal bowl the Bomere Heath team out for 193 and winning the match.

Vice Chair, Neil Lorimer commented, "A double of 100 and 5 wickets in the same one-day game is very rare. Having spoken to Shifnal members whose knowledge goes back 65 years we believe this is the first time it's been achieved at Shifnal. Tom is a talented sportsman who also plays hockey for Telford and this achievement is a just reward for his dedication.
Tom Gough, said "It was really nice to score my first hundred, especially as we were in a tricky spot at 80-5. I didn’t really know what I was on with an over to go when I got a shout from the side saying I was on 82 so I just went for it and luckily, I got to 100 off the last ball with a six! Getting the 5 wickets was an added bonus to my first hundred and the win!"
